Where footage is incomplete decisions are now being taken to use comic-style animation to bridge the gaps, with design work which compliments the genre and atmosphere of the piece.

We are not able to completely re-create footage exactly as it would have looked like, even with the best graphics systems on offer, so why not compliment the footage using a format which is acceptable to the viwer and adds value to the film while also bridging the gap.
